Heather Locklear Returns To Rehab For The Second Time In 6 Month Following Her Psychiatric Hospitali

Heather Locklear has returned to rehab for the second time in six months following her psychiatric hospitalization at the end of last year.
People magazine broke the news the former Melrose Place star is having a difficult time once again. A source close to Locklear opened up regarding her latest stint in rehab, as well as the effect it is having on her family.
“She went back to rehab two weeks ago. She went back to the place she left before Christmas. She had left for three days right before Christmas and never gone back. Heather’s problem is she doesn’t get serious about anything. She was continuing to drink,” the insider explained to the magazine.

Although her family is happy, the actress is seeking treatment for her substance abuse issues, the toll her struggle is taking on them is extensive. Her daughter Ava, with ex-husband Richie Sambora, is bearing the brunt of her mother’s addiction. Locklear’s issues have been ongoing for years, and it has horrible for Ava to watch her mother go through it.
Locklear’s family is hopeful she will get the treatment she so desperately needs. However, they are also gravely concerned for her well-being if she can’t get her addiction under control. After all the 57-year-old blonde beauty has sought professional help numerous times but still battles substance abuse, as well as mental health issues.
The source further believes someone needs to step up to take control of the blonde beauty’s care. However, it is too much for 21-year-old Ava and Locklear’s parents are too old.
“She has been to rehab more than 20 times, perhaps 25 times. The people are really rich, they pay for detoxes. So, a lot of it has been that. She had a sober minder living with her. They pay them like $7,000 to $10,000 a week, and they absolutely haven’t worked for her,” the insider explained.
Life has been a struggle for Heather Locklear, who is back in rehab for the second time in six months, the last couple of years. The actress was arrested last summer, has had various stints in rehab and was placed on a psychiatric hold. Her issues are serious, and her family is worried.
