Jill Duggar no long goes by her maiden name; she now goes by her married name, which is Jill Dillard. You know her as the second oldest girl in the Duggar family. Her parents are Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, and they are the family with 19 kids that has been all over television for the past decade and then some. The family became famous because they have so many kids, and they continue to make headlines for their very strict religious upbringing. One thing that is especially deceiving about the family is how hard they try to pretend their way of life is the one that prevents bad things from happening to their kids.

Unfortunately, the family’s oldest son was accused of molesting as many as four of his sisters growing up, going to rehab and then cheating on his wife by paying for sex using an online cheating site. Things have not looked good for the family in a while, and Jill is one of her brother’s victims. She’s since forgiven him for the things he did to her as a child – claiming to have been asleep for most of them and completely unaware that they were even happening – and she and her sister, Jessa, how have a reality show of their own. This makes us want to get to know Jill Duggar Dillard a bit more to find out what she is really like.

She’s an author

She and her sisters, Jessa, Jana and Jinger all wrote a book together. They call it “Growing Up Duggar,” and in the book they discuss what it was like as children growing up in a family like this one. While it seems that it might have been a difficult life, the girls are actually quite happy with the way that they grew up.

She’s a midwife

You might not know it, but she had career goals. She became a midwife in 2015 when she received her certification. She now assists other women in the birth of their own children, and she loves every second of that. She has a little boy of her own, and she is quite happy to assist others in having their own kids.

She’s married to a mascot

Did you know that Jill Duggar Dillard’s husband is a former mascot? He was the mascot for the Oklahoma State University teams, and he loved it. Since he wore a costume as mascot, you won’t recognize his face from events and games, but it is a kind of cool thing to be able to say about your spouse when you’re telling fun stories.

She won’t use birth control

Like her mother and father, Jill does not plan on using birth control. She was pregnant right away after she got married and she says she will have as many babies as God sees fit for her to have, never knowing if she will become pregnant at any given time. It seems that this works for her, though it is not a way that many women want to live their own lives these days.

She lives in Central America

Shortly after her son was born, she and her husband Derick moved to Central America. They wanted to become missionaries and serve God and the people in that manner. They’ve been there for many months now, and will continue to live there as they do serve their people. She will come back to the states as often as possible, though, to be with family and to allow her son to grow up with his family near.

She was suspected of having sex before marriage

When she announced in August 2014 that she was pregnant with her first child, many fans and non-fans began commenting online that she must not have waited until marriage. Her due date was initially March 24, 2015 and she was given a secondary due date of April 5, 2015 and actually gave birth in August. If you do the math from her first due date, she would have become pregnant around two weeks after her wedding. That would be pushed back another two weeks based on her second due date, so her fans can stop panicking about the fact that she was not a virgin when she wed.

She did not know she was molested

When she was a teenager, Jill Duggar Dillard was one of the victims of her older brother’s sexual abuse. She was asleep when he would touch her inappropriately, and she has no memory of this ever happening to her, save for the fact that he later apologized for it when it came out. It’s probably a good thing she has no memory of this, though we question whether or not knowing now is better than not knowing at all.

Her fans are obsessed with her toes

Seriously; Jill Dillard’s fans are obsessed with her toes. Why? Because she posted a photo of her new husband painting her toe nails just before she announced she was pregnant with their first child. She recently posted a similar photo of him painting her toes while their little boy ran around in the background. Now the world is watching her toes to see if she might be pregnant for the second time.

Rumor has it she’s back in the US

There is another bit of speculation that the family has moved back to Arkansas after spending months living Central America, and it might be because she is pregnant and does not want to put herself and her baby at risk of developing Zika. We don’t know if it’s true, but evidence does show they seem to be back and have no intention of leaving again.

She’s most like her mother

If ever you spend any time watching this show, it is clear to see that Jill is the daughter most like her mother. She is very faithful and she is very firm in her beliefs. She is a rule follower and she is a responsible young woman, and she seems to really value her family’s lifestyle.
